I would hope that it'd be a simple matter to implement a screen that has a QR code reader/writer on it, and that you could scan a QR code on it and have the device authenticate the item that it's being charged for. Maybe they can make their own NFC chip instead of using the tags they have now, and NFC is getting more common for retail in the US anyway.
I have some ideas for other features I could see them implementing, such as being able to check the UPC barcode on a device, then scan the item for authentication if it's not yet on the system (or if it is, but has an invalid code) or if it doesn't have an UPC barcode. A series of random numbers would be generated for each product, and passed to the store to verify. If that number was not successful, the product would be off-limits.
So, my question would be: how do you propose to sell (or at least try to sell) games with a cryptographic check for something like this? I would assume the various game publishers would want to verify the publisher or developer's cryptographic key. Also, I would imagine that games should be pre-installed with the key, or at the very least, we should have a tool to easily generate a key on the user's phone before installing a game. This would save the user from having to install a cryptographic key manager (a public/private keypair) and related tool.
2. Finding a way to modify the tag's firmware to deliberately give out incorrect information. This is an issue. If a good method is found, it will be a catastrophe for the RFID industry, and the authors will be very pleased. Since the manufacturer has no way of knowing whether the tag was tampered with, the tag will have to be physically inspected.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
